STEFF'S STUDIO

The beginning of any creation usually takes place with some kind of direction, written verse, imagery real or imagined, something that my mind and hands can respond to. The beauty, for me, is the work in progress, where outcome is not yet known and anything can happen. It is the driving force that can end in either unexpected delight or raging disappointment. Ultimately, the act of painting is purely emotional, spontaneous and constantly changing. And, as is said to be quoted by the late Umberto Eco: If you interact with things in your life, everything is constantly changing. And if nothing changes, you're an idiot.
